CONSERV Construction Launches Comprehensive Green Initiative To Do Its Part In Protecting The Environment

With CONSERV Construction's growing business comes a growing responsibility to effectively manage the company's impact on the environment.

SUFFERN, NY, November 28, 2010 /Building and Construction PR News/ -- CONSERV Construction, a diverse and innovative construction services company, has launched a comprehensive "Going Green" initiative in an effort to do its part in minimizing adverse impacts on the Earth and its climate.

"As CONSERV Construction grows, we're making every effort to set an example for both our clients and our employees. We realize that it starts right here at our main office. Being conscious of your impact on the environment, even at a small level, is the first step towards positive change," said Don Brennan, Vice President at CONSERV Construction.

Among the highlights of the Green Initiative:

• Paper Reduction - CONSERV Construction is now greatly restricting the internal use of paper, and also providing clients with paperless materials by eliminating the 'paper version' of brochures and other items.
• Green-Friendly IT - CONSERV Construction has reduced emissions and energy usage by utilizing energy-saving technology on company desktops and laptops, as well as power reductions on company workstations.

• Green Lighting - CONSERV Construction has replaced incandescent bulbs with fluorescent and high-efficiency lightning in its corporate headquarters.
• Natural Lighting - The CONSERV Construction headquarters benefits from oversized windows which let in natural light through a good portion of the work day, greatly reducing the need for artificial light.
• Sans Plastic - CONSERV Construction has eliminated the use of disposable plastic water bottles in its facility, and has provided employees with reusable, environmentally-friendly plastic water containers.
• Single-Source Recycling - CONSERV Construction now has single-source recycling bins located throughout its headquarters, which has been proven to dramatically improve recycling volume.

Going forward, CONSERV Construction will continue to conduct regular energy audits to optimize its operating system to demand as little energy as possible.
