Jo Ann Guntrip Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Purchasing Management

Ms Guntrip is a published author of genealogy literature

BROOKSTON, IN, November 29, 2010 /Building and Construction PR News/ -- Jo Ann Guntrip, who retired as a buyer from the Purchasing Department of Purdue University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in purchasing management.

Jo Ann Guntrip recently concluded her fruitful 35-year career at Purdue University. Noted as an expert in purchasing department management and the planning of new construction, she functioned as a buyer and was tasked primarily with overseeing the purchase of furniture, musical instruments and office and library supplies for the university. Ms. Guntrip was also responsible for setting up furniture, planning deliveries, and assisting designers. Though officially retired, she continues to draw on her professional experience in her work. She attributes her success and longevity to her diligence and eagerness to learn.

Passionate about genealogy, Ms Guntrip serves as an instructor at her local family history center where she assists and trains people in the use of computer programs that will help them trace their ancestry. A published author, she wrote a 746 page book chronicling her pet project: writing individual mini histories, photographing stones, locating the tombstones of people's loved ones and restoring them if needed. She has also contributed articles to Lafayette Journal and Courier and is currently working on updating a second book, DVD of stones, plus a list of tombstones of military personnel. She has also published White County 1834-1951 marriages.

Organizations with which Ms Guntrip is affiliated include the Purdue Retirees Association and the International Society of Photographers. She looks forward to continuing her work in family history and publishing more books.

She was recently honored with being named International VIP for 2010 and 2011 with Prestigious
National Honor Society of Executives Registry of Outstanding Professions.
