Mining Executive Enters The Ranks Of Stanford Who's Who
Stanford Who's Who welcomes Andrew K.B. Mortimer to the ranks of leading professionals as a result of his magnificent work in the Mining Industry.
SYDNEY, NSW, AUSTRALIA, December 9, 2010 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Stanford Who's Who welcomes Andrew K.B. Mortimer to the ranks of leading professionals as a result of his magnificent work in the Mining Industry. As Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Proto Resources & Investments Ltd. for the past 13 years, Mr. Mortimer has consistently demonstrated the vision, dedication and diligence necessary to be successful in the business world.
Proto Resources & Investments Ltd. Is a company focused on nickel-cobalt and iron ore development while maintaining a strong exploration program concentrating on copper and nickel sulphide targets across Australia. The flagship of the company is the Barnes Hill nickel-cobalt-iron project located in northern Tasmania, which is slated to commence mining in early 2003. The successful deployment of this technology promises to slash OPEX and CAPEX costs by 'recycling' sulphuric acid and turning minor metals into saleable products.
On the exploration front, Proto Resources is exploring its Lindeman's Bore, Wave Hill and Waterloo projects for the possibility that the Antrim Plateau Volcanics of the Northern Territory could host a Norilsk Style 'super-system.' The company has also recently acquired a suite of projects in the Doolgunna region of Western Australia to explore for potential volcanogenic massive sulphide targets.
Mr. Mortimer's background is in law and metallurgy as well as experience in investment markets. He has a great deal of experience in creating, structuring and preserving the necessary strategic alliances to build solid mining businesses with the potential for sustained growth. Andrew is firmly committed to building Proto Resources into a globally significant nickel company off the back of world class exploration and state of the art nickel laterite processing technology.
Andrew currently serves as Chairman of corporate advisory firm Superstructure International Pty Ltd, Director of Operations of Global Nickel Investments NL, and a Director of SA Capital Funds Management Ltd. During his educational career, he earned A Bachelor's degree in Law from Sydney University. Mr. Mortimer is a member of the Australian Institute for Mining and Metallurgy.
