Charles Carlan Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
Charles Carlan celebrates nearly 50 years in the engineering industry
PENSACOLA, FL, August 27, 2010 /Building and Construction PR News/ -- Charles Carlan, President of Hatch Mott MacDonald, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in engineering management.
President of Hatch Mott MacDonald, Mr. Carlan utilizes 48 years of experience in civil engineering and transportation. After joining the company in 1972, he exemplified diligence and dedication on a daily basis, acquiring ownership after two senior principals retired. He renamed the firm Carlan Consulting Group in 1992. It grew to become Killam Group of companies and was publicly traded and bought by Hatch Mott MacDonald. Currently, 24,000 employees work for the business worldwide. It offers project development, analysis, design, procurement, construction, engineering and inspection and construction management consultation. In Mr. Carlan's position, he manages business development, conducts meetings with department heads, discusses targets and contacts potential clients.
Mr. Carlan received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Auburn University in 1960. He went on to work for the Florida Department of Transportation for five years and as a City Engineer for the City of Pensacola, Florida. Currently, he serves as a chairman on the Engineering Advisory Council of the University of West Florida, as a fellow of the Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers and as a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Through his hard work, he has attained an Award for Excellence in Engineering from Governor Albert Gilchrist with the State of Florida and Recognition for Excellence in Athletics from Auburn University. In the approaching years, he would like to maintain all professional licenses and relationships.
