Val Martinez to be Listed among Industry Leaders

LAFAYETTE, LA, July 1, 2011 /Building and Construction PR News/ -- Val Martinez, Safety Director of The Cajun Company Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in personnel safety.
Celebrating his 26th year with The Cajun Company Inc., which provides hot and cold insulation contract services, Mr. Martinez has led a successful career through hard work and dedication. Originally an asbestos worker, he quickly learned the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations and advanced to the corporate level.
Mr. Martinez, who is an expert in the areas of personnel safety, hazardous waste, and scaffolding installation, currently holds the position of safety director. Equipped with an associate degree in safety technology, he oversees the regional safety aspects and ensures that all policies and procedures are adhered to. Eager to continue in the same capacity, he plans to increase his company's safety perspective and serve as a mentor to new employees.
Professionally, Mr. Martinez belongs to the American Society of Safety Engineers and is accredited in both Asbestos and Lead Abatement through the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality and Environmental Protection Agency.
Mr. Martinez volunteers in his free time in his community where he has been a member of the Bayou Boeuf Volunteer Fire Department for 18 years. He is a Medical First Responder through the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (Bureau of Emergency Medical Services). He has served as President and Fire Chief of the department where he is currently the Treasurer.
Mr. Martinez is also active in his church community where he is the Chairman of the Finance Committee. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 10800, where he served as Grand Knight for 5 year and Deputy Grand Knight for 5 years.
