Endo Pharmaceutical and IMC Construction Break Ground on New Headquarters

IMC Construction hosted PA Governor Tom Corbett, State Senator Andy Dinniman, Congressman Jim Gerlach to break ground on the new 320,000 square foot facility for Endo Pharmaceuticals.

MALVERN, PA, January 27, 2012 /Building and Construction PR News/ -- Pennsylvania Governor, Tom Corbett and several other elected officials joined IMC Construction in a ceremonial groundbreaking for Endo Pharmaceuticals in Malvern, PA. The 320,000 square foot facility, developed by Trammell Crow Co. at the Atwater business park and designed by L2 Partridge will entail two 5-story buildings overlooking Quarry Lake with a 2 story connecting link, and site work to include a 1-story parking deck for approximately 420 cars.

The Atwater development sits on the former Cedar Hollow Quarry which was established in 1855 and had a reputation for high quality limestone. Since then the mine has become an 80 acre scenic lake which will afford the Endo building panoramic views. IMC has moved approximately 80,000 yards of earth to position the building on an outcrop over the lake. Due to the close proximity to the lake, plans include a unique geo-thermal HVAC system that will utilize lake water cooling loop. Not only will the structure offer offices, a full service kitchen, cafeteria, training center and conference center, but an on-site exercise center will be available for employees as well.

Trammell Crow hired L2 Partridge to jointly fast track the Endo project. To aid and expedite in the preconstruction process, IMC is utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) to expedite quantitative take-off of preliminary drawing to aid with estimates and budgeting. BIM has allowed site and foundation construction to begin while the building is still being designed. These models (see BIM renderings by IMC below) will also be used throughout the project for collaboration and visualization of stakeholders and subcontractors. IMC is distinctively positioned to work with both union and non-union trades and therefore able to offer substantial savings on this project.

Endo's new corporate headquarters addresses its continued growth, and will position Endo closer to the heart of the healthcare corridor in Pennsylvania, where nearly 100 other healthcare and life science companies currently reside. The joint construction of the new all-electronic interchange linking Route 29 in Great Valley with the Pennsylvania Turnpike on the Western edge of the 388-acre Atwater site and Endo's new headquarters will provide an economic boost to the Great Valley Corporate Center and surrounding areas.
